JOHN J. RAMBO as cybercrust-god-being. We had a Rambo marathon on our big TV the other night for Gretchen’s birthday - we made it through the first three. I had never watched them because I assumed they were typical pro-Amerikkkan Action movies, but the first one is pretty cool. I like the figure of the beleaguered and resentful Vietnam veteran.
Posts tagged my shit.
I drew this on the back of a receipt when I was in MTL in October. When I was arrested in Toronto for drawing Harry Potter on a metal gas company box in Bellevue Square Park, one of the officers looked through my notebook. He pointed to the words ‘Fuck Life’ here, and asked me why I was so angry. I said it was just kind of a punk rock thing I guess.
The persyn in the ‘Black Metal’ t-shirt is my ex-roommate Sarah, now of Violent Restitution and the Chateau. The persyn in the bottom right is the god of cybercrust.
FINALLY
RELEASING THIS SONG
Happy last picnic of the season, Pro-Choice MTL
This may need to be mixed again, I don’t know since it is 6 am and I can’t listen to it on any real speakers without waking everyone.
But yeah,
Party to this !!!! ,
the first single from the coming mixtape…………… >:)
I started working on the Negative Space mural on Tuesday. It’s working out pretty okay. The second picture is just Jesset and Dirty Beez’ doodles on paper. We were all there drinking beer and listening to Das Racist, J. Riley Hill, and Ballast. Then we went to 21 Jump Street, which as I mentioned, was a Huge Mistake.
What do you think?
Should I write KILL SOCIETY REBEL REBEL KILL across the bottom in bubble letters?
Fuck, I … don’t know why I made this song.
But it is quicker to make bad songs than good ones.
If you don’t think it’s funny, listen to: FLYING THRU THE AIR INNA AIRPLANE by Kool A.D.
I made this remix for the Dark Side of the Internet dance party. This Sea Oleena Beyonce cover is just about the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard, but I thought it would sound okay with a beat and a bit of synth added, could dance to it even maybe. You know? Torso swaying with the piano, but bopping your fist to the bass drum? The party was… fucking … sick.
This is the drawing I did while talking to you on the phone for hours
UNGH
I’m getting tired of making these honestly. I think I might have one more in me. This one though, people said it was alright. I could make a better beat for these rhymes if I wasn’t obsessed with this novelty project of remixing Egyptian Art Strike songs. I guess that’s that Bogus Mindset.
Episode Whaaaat?
Phantom Menace
I think I need to go see Darth Maul’s dentist.
Jesset and I went to see it in 3D. It ruled. So formative for me, especially the Lego. So racist though! (Obi-Wan the first time he sees Jar Jar: “What’s this?”)
I guess now that I use this thing I could let the people know what some of my real music is like. Not that there’s any continuity. This is live with the Windy Emu on electronics, opening for Katie and the Lichen. The 3-song live recording can be downloaded here. Spruce LaSpruce liked the song enough to put it on Youtoob independently, which is very nice. I am making a real version of the song. It’s going to be a hit. You’re going to play it at all your dance parties. Here is the rest of my old Youtoob shit.
I recorded my verses late at night in the tour van, behind the Chateau, while Ultralazer was on a date and everyone else was passed the fuck out. James said he wants people to like it. Like in Brooklyn or something. I told him to send it to Brooklyn Vegan Magazine. The drums and the vocals that sound like a dubstep synth and the guitar and the weird glitchy computer sound and the echoing background sound are all Egyptian Art Strike just manipulated-as-fuck, from their song “2”. I added the bass and the hihat and the Leonard Cohen and the Madvillain. (DOWNLOAD)
Silly!
oops I made a Witch House track.
I was somehow awake at 9:30 this morning thinking about dance-punk and I realized I had to make this remix of Oh Bondage! Up Yours! It’s been my project to combine the best of evil music (folk-punk, crust, metal) with sexy music (hip hop, dubstep, pop) for a while, but it’s not like that idea is innovative. This mutual contamination has been happening as long as these genres have existed. Danielle got me thinking about this when she sent me this: Αντί. Old school Greek political synth-punk. Right on. So this one is for acknowledging the history. I feel like X-ray Spex are pretty dancey right?
RILEY IS ABOUT TO GO H.A.M. HARD AS A MOTHERFUCKERRR
